They Found Him Dead

They Found Him Dead, by Georgette Heyer

I love Georgette Heyer's historical fiction, but until now her mysteries have left me cold. Now, finally, I have read a Heyer mystery that I liked! It's a good puzzle, the characters are memorable (and sometimes memorably hateable), and it was fun. Just what I needed!

  1. I didn't know she wrote mysteries. My daughter is a fan of her historical fiction. I'm looking for a mystery to read for the Mixing It Up challenge; must take a look at this. Thanks...

  2. I'm kind of the other way round to you actually - I really like her mysteries, but I'm not bothered at all about her historical fiction! I mean, they're not as good as Agatha Christie or anything, but they're readable and occasionally quite clever.

I love that edition by the way - is that the copy you have?

  3. I may have gotten a couple of duds the first time around, who knows. And I only wish I had that edition--mine is an old falling-apart paperback with a very ugly cover.
