Classics Club Spin #38

I'm back, baby!  I missed the last Spin (which is terrible, because now Brona is the only one left who has done all of them), but I'm in for this one.  You know the drill, here's the rules, and here's my list:

  1. No Name, by Wilkie Collins
  2. Second-Class Citizen, by Buchi Emecheta
  3. The Well at the End of the World, by William Morris
  4. It is Acceptable (Det Gaar An), C. J. L. Almqvist
  5. Two Years Before the Mast, by Richard Henry Dana
  6.  Amerika, by Kafka
  7. Peter the Great's African, by Pushkin
  8.  The Beggar's Opera, by John Gay
  9. Sybil, by Disraeli
  10. The Leopard, by di Lampedusa
  11.  Phineas Finn, by Anthony Trollope
  12.  The Obedience of a Christian Man, by William Tyndale
  13. It Can't Happen Here, by Sinclair Lewis
  14. Polyhistor Solinus
  15. Conjure Tales, by Charles Chesnutt
  16. The Duchess of Malfi, by John Webster
  17. The Black Arrow, by R. L. Stevenson
  18. Ring of Bright Water, by Gavin Maxwell
  19. The Tale of Sinhue (ancient Egyptian poetry)
  20.  Eichmann in Jerusalem, by Hannah Arendt

  1. It Can't Happen Here is on my list, too, and I would really like for it to come up.

  2. I'm so glad you're back - I was worried we'd lost youo from the blogging world there for a while :-)
    Great list as always.

  3. No Name is one I haven't read. I went on a Wilkie Collins kick a couple of years ago and sped through The Woman in White and The Moonstone, but maybe it's time to revisit his catalogue.
I enjoyed The Duchess of Malfi and The Black Arrow so either of those would be a good hope for you this spin!

  4. Ah, the Cheese stands alone!

Good luck with your spin. I have Ring of Bright Water on my longlist, but I didn't put it on my spin list this time.

  5. Polyhistor by Solinus! I had to look that one up. Do I dare hope you get that? I'd love to learn more about it.
