"There is something truer than truth and it is love." We are all so good at bashing each other for our faults these days. I think we are going to bash each other out of existence, unless we can find another way. It's always good to find those voices who are calling us in a different direction.Loryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08519976394732029323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817835476996956670.post-11114355416270754782021-03-20T23:12:01.491-07:002021-03-20T23:12:01.491-07:00Wow Jean, you find the most unique gems in books! ...Wow Jean, you find the most unique gems in books! I did Scandinavian languages and English, and my comp lit courses tended to be focused on mid-century Europe, 30s on up, and Bakhtin. I had ...Mark Neiman? I was doing Latin & Greek while he was doing Spanish & Portuguese. I was there '90 - '94, and got my Master's, but dropped out before finishing my Ph.D. What a weird coincidence!reesehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15818057262934008241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817835476996956670.post-70341900285483163722021-03-20T11:07:47.909-07:002021-03-20T11:07:47.909-07:00What, really?? I knew him mainly through church, obviously -- Comp Lit wasn't exactly a close-knit department -- but we talked books a few times as well. You can find a few videos of him giving talks if you want to see what he looks like now.

Man, those were some good days at Cal. <3Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14247515387599954817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817835476996956670.post-28174432720059620492021-03-20T09:19:59.879-07:002021-03-20T09:19:59.879-07:00I hadn't heard about this. We used to play racquetball together twice a week and talk books, but I've lost touch with him over the last couple of years. Thanks for this!reesehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15818057262934008241noreply@blogger.com
